ARTEFACT: PLACEMENT SUPERVISING REPORT
Teachers learn best from and with each other through quality, collaborative and professional learning relationships (NSW Department of Education, 2021). The supervising report is from my 0-2 placement and reflects standard (6.6.3) as it ultimately transformed my teaching practice from mid-point assessment to the end of my placement. My supervising teacher during the interim had reported on my strengths and areas that I needed to focus on. Some elements included using my time more effectively and engaging in more intentional teaching beyond my planned teaching experiences.

Constructive feedback is an element in teaching that is crucial as it is seen through the eyes of someone that is more proficient and experienced within the same work of field (Green & Hopwood, 2014), I was very appreciative of her comments as I was able to seek knowledge and ask for help from a different perspective. For example, using my daily notes of children as my observations and not rewriting them again at home. At the end of my placement, she made one last comment in regards to linking my learning experiences to my observations. This truly helped me improve my practice (6.6.3) as she suggested ideas which are beneficial to helping me be and become a better teacher.

The report also infers my professional practice and positive relationship building with colleagues. During the course of my placement, and not having worked with 0-2 year olds ever before, I was able to identify that and improve/learn with the colleagues (6.6.3) extending my teaching philosophy and practice. As a beginning teacher, observing teachers in practice helps formulate and deepen professional practice, (Green & Hopwood, 2014). When associating with the team at the centre I was able to learn more about the 0-2 age group, apply theory to practice, adopt new strategies and build more confidence as a beginning teacher (6.6.3).
